Baroque Music in the New World
Enjoy a day exploring the rich repertoire and fascinating lives of the intrepid first Spanish composers and musicians who travelled to South America in the early colonial period of the 16th – 17th centuries. The course includes music inspired by the native peoples, as well as the first New World opera by Tomás de Torrejón y Velasco.
